RM of Usborne’s story
The Rural Municipality of Usborne No. 310 was incorporated as a rural municipality on December 13, 1909. It lies in the central part of Saskatchewan, and its land surrounds the town of Lanigan and the village of Drake.
Two former villages also lie within its boundaries. Lockwood was dissolved as a village on January 1, 2002, and is now a locality. Guernsey was dissolved as a village on December 31, 2005, and is now an organized hamlet. Today Guernsey is home to the RM's office, where an elected council and an appointed administrator meet on the second Wednesday of each month.
Visitors interested in the area's past can stop at the Lanigan & District Heritage Centre.
